Oh wait a second, I already am his wife. Ha ha... but we're going to do it all over again in a big wedding in Bridgewater for my entire family to see. It wasn't feasible for them to come to New Orleans with us, but that doesn't mean they get to miss out completely.
I'm starting this so I can express my joys and my absolute frustration with planning our wedding, and this way I can keep the specifics that I want organized and easily accessible to others!
Let's start with the Cast list.
Bride: Ashley
MoH: Courtney, cousin of the bride
BMaid: Jennifer, best friend of the bride
JrBrM: Tori, cousin of the bride
FG: Teanna, cousin of the bride
Groom: Woody
BestM: Adam, friend of the groom
GrM: James, friend of the bride and groom (possible change)
JrGM: Undecided, there are several possibilities
RingB: Undecided, see below.
I'm undecided if we will be having a Ring bearer. I do not know many young boys who are Teanna's age, and truly my only option would be Jennifer's going on 4 year old. Teanna will only be two.
As for the Junior Groomsman, we won't be able to choose this until we find out if Woody's son will be able to make the trip with us. If he can, he will be the obvious choice. If he cannot, Courtney's step-son is an option, or Jennifer's older boy. All three boys are the same age, which is two years younger than Tori. But Tori's well seasoned with weddings and will do fine with someone a little younger.
James has not been able to make a full commitment to come to the wedding. We only asked him tonight, and he's never been on a plane before. If he cannot make it, even if it's last minute, I will find someone to stand in his place. I have a brother (well I have two, but one is doing my photos), I have family and friends who could stand in. My first choice would be my baby brother, second choice my friend Benjamin.
At this point we do not expect any of Woody's family to be attending. In fact, they don't yet know we're getting married (we'll announce it in the coming months). But it's a long journey and we don't expect them to make that sort of trip. He has been married before, so he is less worried about them than he was my family. Being my mother's only daughter, he felt she should get the chance to see me walk down the aisle. Good thing, my grandmother was liable to kill him if we didn't. *laf*
*** And on to the colors***
I've actually only made half the decisions I need to on this. I've chosen Fuchsia for the Bridesmaids. I'm thinking Turquoise for the guys. Silver for Woody. Courtney has the choice between Turquoise and Fuchsia (I'd like to see her choose the Fuchsia, but it's her choice).
Teanna is causing me some grief. I know that Flower Girls are traditionally white. But she'll be 26 months old. A white dress is going to last 30 seconds before it's no longer whilte.
This is Tori's dress:

Teanna's will be identical, but just don't know if she's wearing the fuchsia or not. I think it would be very different for the flower girl to not be in white at all, she'd match in so well, and she looks adorable in pink.. now if she'd just grow some hair....
